Who we are
The Center for Insect Research and Development (CIRD) is a dully registered social enterprise company in Uganda. Registered as a social enterprise in 2019 with the Reg. No. 80020001646768 and Tax identification number: 1024292115.
Established in 2019, CIRD has a bold vision of being a center of excellence for research and product development from beneficial insects in Uganda and beyond.
Our vision is premised on an ambitious mission that seeks to generate evidence-based innovative solutions for sustainable utilization of insect resources for income, employment, conservation, healthy humans and animals.
At CIRD, our current community services are largely focused on two beneficial insects: Black Soldier Fly (BSF) and Bees
